Happy Valentines Day my dears! I hope you all get to spend it loving that important special someone, YOU! After all, you deserve to give yourself plenty of loving on this day and of course every other day of the year! But all kidding aside, I hope you are spending your day with that special someone (or the all the ones you consider special... hey I'm thinking family, friends) and giving them a bit of extra love on this day!

Hubby and I (married for 8 years now... we got married super young if you are trying to do the math) never really like doing anything super big for Valentine's Day. After trial and error for at least four years, we figured it was best we kept it simple, and just enjoy us for a couple of hours.(Mind you we have the craziest schedules- so we never hardly see each other. He works night shift and I'm at work and school.)

This year we decided to try a restaurant we pass by all the time whenever we go down to Times Square, 42nd street. It's called Havana Central. It's on 46th Street btwn. 6th and 7th Ave.

Havana Central Times Square

The Restaurant specializes in Cuban cuisine, and Hubby and I have been on a mission to try all the Spanish Restaurants in the city. Walking into Havana Central the atmosphere is snapshot of the 1950's era. I honestly felt if I could expect Ricki Ricardo to start performing any moment. The place was lively with Spanish music playing in the background and I was amused at the fact there was an actual person rolling Cuban cigars at the entrance!

What I learned is that Havana Central, besides specializing in Cuban food, they are known for their amazing drinks.
Havana Central Sangria

Havana Central's Ultimate Mojito
Made with 10 cane rum

These drinks were amazing! Both drinks were sweet and flavorful...they sold me at that point!

Churrasco with White rice and Black beans

As appetizers we shared empanadas (meat patties) of Chicken, Beef, and Pork and they were delicious- we wanted more! For entrees, I had ordered a Churrasco (Skirt Steak) with White Rice and Black Beans (A favorite Cuban dish of mine) and it was excellent! Hubby ordered Garlic Chicken with White Rice and Red Beans. (Didn't take a pic because he gobbled it down before I could!)

If you are ever in the city, especially around Times Square and want some great Spanish food, I would definitely recommend this place. Even better as a place to grab a couple drinks, order some finger food and enjoy the atmosphere!
