Plush, Lush Lashes? Mega Plush Volum' Express Review

Lovelies! I haven't written a mascara post in a while - I've really tried holding myself back in trying so many different mascaras throughout the week because that's how you really lose the overall effect on how one, specific, product works.

If you follow Mandii A La Mode on Instagram (@Mandiialamode), then you know I've been hard at work testing out the Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum' Express

As this mascara is still fairly new in the market, there has already been plenty of buzz and review about this little aqua tube. I enjoy most Maybelline's mascara's, but this one's claim to fame is it's revolutionary gel- mousse formula, which means, less wax = less clumps and more fluffy, plush lashes!

So of course, Mandii had to try this baby out for herself!

I picked up the waterproof kind, only because with the NYC hot and humid summers, I didn't want to be battling runny mascara!
The Mega Plush mascara spool was nice and full, I usually like when the spools are like that because it means I get more lashes coated and I can really wriggle this bad boy through them.  Only downfall, it makes a sucky applicator for bottom lashes, unless you really don't mind a really smokey eye look - and I mean really smokey.

Here is a side-by-side comparison, one coat on the left and two coats on the right.

Disclaimer: I have really long lashes to begin with, so length acquired with mascara may be different.

I really like the formula, it's light, but not runny,  I guess because it is gel based, but easily build-able and I didn't really experience any issues with clumping until the mascara was finishing.

The waterproof formula was amazing! It did not budge until I took my makeup remover to it.

I don't think I ever really achieved the full, plush lashes as advertised. The look I kept getting was defined, long lashes.

Overall, I think Maybelline's The Mega Plush Volum' Express mascara is worth a try to see if you may prefer the gel- mousse formula to the traditional mascara texture. It's long lasting and defining, but it may take some extra morning prep time to achieve plush lashes!

Are there any new beauty products that you've been trying for the summer- or anything you look forward to check out for the fall? Let me know below!

Much love as always!
